Green Living
Chelsea Chic Garden
Construction Notes:
a(For Technical Drawings Please Contact Outer Spaces)
a
1) This garden is emerging from a shallow pool and allows the occupier to be surrounded by cool, moving water. The movement and sound is created by six tall bubbling jets which will appear vertically, up through the planting.
2) The garden is entered via the usual, long, thin paved stepping stones above the water. Marshalls Indian Stone will pave the surface in a light, but warm colour and give a smooth feel - inviting the occupier to walk barefoot.
3) The stepping stones get wider as you approach the main area, which is big enough for multiple uses.
4) A teak suspended roof is supported by two solid upright beams at the front and mounted to the wall at the back. The teak framework encases a green living roof containing: Allium schoenoprasm.
5) The green theme is then continued around the plot walls. Living / planted walls will surround the area on two sides, interrupted by random teak panels. (Long, thin panels to echoe the stepping stones.) These will be mounted behind the main area forming a wooden, panelled effect, with bespoke mosaics mounted onto the wall, emphasising the surrounding plants.
